1. PREAMBLE: Intentions and Issues
The Reliance Project at Jamnagar is a green field’s project of enormous magnitude. It envisages a total development almost 6000 Acres i.e. 24 Sq.Km. of virgin land. As a comparison, the area of the Island City of Bombay (from Mahim / Sion to Colaba) is 60 Sq.Km.
Therefore, a real opportunity existed to impart a clear, identifiable Image and identity to the overall Development - and with it, to the entire region.
This total spread comprises of four (4) independent parcels of land situated at various locations in the Motikhavadi - Sikka region of the Jamnagar District. These are:
- Refinery Site: (Moti Khavadi, 5000 Acres / 20 sq.km.)
- Marine Tank Farm : (Sikka, 300 Acres / 1.2 sq.km.)

2. APPROACH:
The “ Image “ of this City has emerged out of the sum of the Images of each of its Component Districts.
The visual / aesthetic “ Image “ of this city is defined essentially by the articulations of the following elements:
- External Expression : skyscape, silhouette, edges, approach, entrance.
- Landmarks: natural, constructed.
- Built Forms and Open Spaces: density, colour, texture, and material.
- Nodes.
- Systems of Circulation & Links.
- Human Scale Elements: signage, posts, fencing etc.
The development of the Master Plans for the Township has included elements such as the street patterns, location and sizing of the individual buildings and structures, their orientation and interconnectivity. They also include the formulations of attitudes to open areas, green areas and parking areas.
3. BUILT FORM :
The Township has been developed in two phases:
Phase I - is essentially completed.
Phase II - will be taken up at a later date.

III. MEDICAL CENTRE - 10500 Sq.ft.: 4 Consultants Room, Waiting, OPD Labs for x-rays, Pathology, Audiometry, 12 Bed Ward, 2 Private Rooms, Operation Theatre, Utility Services Areas, etc.
IV. GATE HOUSE : Alongwith Subway System for connection to Process Facilities etc.
V. MARKET - 26000 sq.ft. : Sector Markets (20 SqM), Temporary Market (5,50 Sq.M.), Main Shopping Mall, including Bank, P.O., Mini Super- Market, and 20 other shops for Barber, Chemist, Fast Food, Vegetables etc.

- Master Plan including location of all buildings, avenue roads, open spaces, pedestrian routes, utility buildings, residential cluster planning, in accordance with all geographical technical data of natural phenomena.
- Design of all buildings, including furniture/interiors.
