 ILFSL Corporate Office Location, Bangalore client, ILFSL area, 10,000 sq. ft. approx. completed, 1995 The clients brief specified only that the office should have the informal and comfortable look of a house and warmth of a residential space. Thus, we worked out a design which while being extremely functional in essence would at first glance give a relaxed look, easy on the eye.   
Around the conventional organization of the office workstations all of rich dark wood, the waiting areas for visitors were given an informal treatment. Antique wooden tables, artefacts and small, rectangular carpets scattered on a wide expanse of flooring succeed in achieving a rich, informal look while antique lamps, brass vases full of flowers and ferns add colour and warmth to the spaces.   
The waiting areas are the most informally treated ,with wooden sofas covered with bright fabrics and multi-coloured patch-work cushions scattered everywhere.   
The beautiful white marble floor , white walls and ceiling help to achieve a clean , spacious look and act as a perfect setting for the artefacts hung on the walls and scattered on table tops all around. |
