Bangalore, the garden city, is truly fast becoming another concrete jungle, entrusted with the design of an apartment complex, we worked with a courtyard concept, the plan is extremely simple, consisting of two 'c' shaped blocks (each containing two, three and four bedroom flats) connected to each other by two bridges housing the duplex flats the voids created under the bridges serve as the main entrance of the complex on one side and the covered swimming pool. On the other side the central court is encircled by a colonnade with a pergola creating a green buffer zone for the ground floor flats from the driveway as resident parking is in the basement, the central courtyard remains free of any vehicles, providing complete privacy to all the apartments although they face the central courtyard, and is truly a garden court.
